If what I researched is correct, monsters that are used for XYZ material leave the field and become material for the XYZ monster. Because of that, monsters, such as Sangan, will not get their effect. Monsters, like Sangan, specify that it must be sent from the field to the GRAVEYARD to get it's effect. Monsters, such as Reborn Tengu, will get their effects because it says removed from the field. Because of that, you get the XYZ summon and another Reborn Tengu, but if your opponent takes your Reborn Tengu for an XYZ Summon, he/she gets the effect, not you. I believe I am correct on my research. Credit for helpping with my research is my friend Neil

Re: XYZ Summon rulings!
Reborn Tengu doesnt get its effect. Konami made that ruling clear a long time ago. thats why you never see reborn tengu is xyz decks. Tourbus and Dandylion and monsters with similar effects get there abilities. Monsters like Tengu and Absolute Zero do not. Theyre not considered to have left the field when you XYZ summon.

Re: XYZ Summon rulings!
Its not really a dumb ruling, its better then it used to be. Would you rather have them be considered as left the field, not left the field or in the limbo halfway state the rulings says now?
